Vintage Menswear

Laurence King, 2012

Written by co-founders of The Vintage Showroom – Douglas Gunn and Roy Luckett – and freelance style writer Josh Sims, this large hardback features 130 of the most influential examples of 20th-century utilitarian tailoring and design.

Divided into three sections (sportswear, militaria and workwear), the book covers everything from 1940s flying jackets and polar exploration suits, to vintage French denims. The book’s layout aims to complement the ground-breaking shape and cut of the garments, through a dynamic use of the photography. The cover features an inset fabric label that houses the book’s title.

All photography by Nic Shonfeld.
